I could barely contain my excitement to read this issue. With the way the last issue left off, I`ve been chomping at the bit! I almost pulled a ``fatherjeff`` and read the book while driving home from work! I wanted to really enjoy it though so I waited until I got home.
Lets start with the cover. One of my favourite of the year! I love the stark background and the composition of Skrull Spidey over Wolverine. Just a gem by Yu. His work inside does not disappoint either. Too many massive splach scenes to count and the Central Park fight was epic. There were some gaps in the fights which I though were odd, but it turns out that they are all accounted for in Thunderbolts #125 (see review).
The writing was okay, and as a huge Bendis fan you have to know that I am pretty tolerant of his writing style(s). I do think he could have done a little more with this book. It lacked his trademark wittiness.
The story was good, and in keeping with previous plot scripting, this book had many reveals that have been months in the making. I really enjoed the roles that some of the lesser characters had and am never disappointed when it is my boy Wolverine who cuts his way through a crowd and is the first to arrive at the intended target.
A good read, and I can't wait for the finale!
