This is what an Annual issue should look like; deliver a variety of stories in different formats and with different creative teams to highlight the opportunities that the Witchblade universe can sustain. We move from the battle field of urban warfare in what was probably the deadliest struggle during World War II; the Russian front and especially the battle for Stalingrad. This is so well depicted with the right amount of shade and reds to place the battle in the right atmosphere.
We have a great interlude with the Witchblade in Normandy with Joan of Arc wielding it as she fights for her land and king.
Then, we have a great prose story in the Devil's Due as murderers pay-up for their side of the bargain with you know who.
And finally we have great pin-ups from Indian artists as they interpret the Witchblade in the Indian tradition.
Overall this is a great Annual.
