I must confess I’m not a horror fan. I don’t go out of my way to look for horror movies or books of any kind that promote horror themes. I came across this title from Dark Horse by accident and was captivated by the fact that it was a Robert E. Howard story and the imagery of the comic appealed to me. Now in the second issue we get a better understanding of the dynamic of the story and the mood the writer conveys through the story telling, dialogue and imagery. This is a well executed comic that highlights the versatility of the writing and artistic team but also Howard’s creative genius. I hope Dark Horse continues to bring Howard’s stories in the comic medium for they have proven to be a careful and faithful restorers of Howard’s literary heritage.
