Great Substance and Presentation

Having been away from captain America and the whole Marvel Universe for a couple of decades I have to say that it was an exciting experience to read about the after-effects of Rogers death by so many great writers and artists. I especially enjoyed the Origin story by Alex Ross and One Year After by Ed Brubaker. Mark Waid’s The Persistence of Memorabilia was both funny and touching as memorabilia were obtained by such deserving characters. It was also nice to read Red Skull’s Deadly Revenge from 1942. It’s amazing how Cap’s moves have remained the same throughout the years. I especially like the way Al Avison handled the art work. It’s a great reprint. It was great checking out the many covers re-printed at the end of this massive commemorative issue of Captain America. This issue has my vote both in substance and presentation.
