Hickman Breathes Life Into the Death of a Marvel Character

Jonathan Hickman's entire "COUNTDOWN TO CASUALITY" storyline, which began in FF #583 and concludes in this issue has been one of the highlights to a series that honestly has been looking for relevance in the Marvel Universe in a LONG time.

During these last 5 issues, readers have watched the FF split into 4 various individual adventures...with one of the team meeting their end by this issue. Everyone knows who it is by NOW, but to focus on the review, I won't mention the spoiler.

While the polybagged edition makes me wince thinking about SUPERMAN #75, I will say that the character does deserve a certain amount of marketing closure. This is a team that's been around since 1961, harkening in the Silver Age of Comics by fans, readers and collectors alike. And while death in comics has the longevity of a tooth filling, this story has been fun and paid a nice homage to the FF.

Excellent storytelling from beginning to end. Really looking forward to the new #1.
