Funny thing about this book as that I wasn't going to pick it up at all. Truth be told, I hate Nick Fury. I think he is a total douchbag! Boy am I glad I didn't follow my gut on this one. This was a really great read. And for once the "extras" added at the end of the book were genuinely awesome.
This is the kind of issue that you have to read a couple of times to fully absorb. It is completely dialogue driven, which showcases Bendis in his glory. You know the writing is good when when you hate the characters in the book (every one of them!) but still think the book is fantastic. It is good to see Casselli on the pencils in this book as well. His work on Avengers: Initiative was some of that series best.
And if you haven't already heard, the final page blows all kinds of Marvel's power structures right out of the freakin water.
Good job Marvel. It is not often that my expectation are surpassed on this level.
