I wanted to take some time to figure out how I felt about Hydra being in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D.. The announcement seemed like a bombshell when it was announced last issue. I suppose it could still turn out to be a great espionage story. But as of issue 2, I think I really hate the idea that S.H.I.E.L.D. was run by their nemesis. We all knew S.H.I.E.L.D. was corrupt, and the whole schema surrounding the idea works. But I have always found Hydra sort of pathetic. To hear that they were pulling the strings, just doesn't sound possible.
Baron Von Strucker blowing up the Hydra underwater base and then starting a new recruiting drive right after is also really hard to fathom, no matter how insane he is. I'm going to give this series a couple more issues, but the only thing I am enjoying is the art. The story only mildly entertains me.
