If I Die Before I Wake”
I’m not going to rave about this issue, but I will applaud Spurrier and Dell’dera for an entertaining issue. I don’t think this will become a must-read issue by anyone’s standards. However, PWJ is supposed to be Frank’s interaction with the Marvel Universe and not MAX. Frank and Stuart must rescue a kidnapped girl from an “Arcade-esque” villain named Captain Pepper. The symbolism in the issue is due to a psychedelic drug as Frank gets gassed and must deal with the visions as he attempts the rescue. I wouldn’t like this as a mini-series, but for one issue it’s an entertaining read. The story and the art compliment a clever tale.
