As is common with most Marvel "Big Events", there is a "Front Line" book which accompanies it. I am assuming "The Home Front" is intended to serve the same function as these series in the past, even though it is named something different.
"The Home Front" is actually 4 short stories collected within this one book. This is a shift from the traditional Front Line format, and is actually a nice change.
The first story features Speedball, who of course is most infamous for his role in the Stamford disaster. Speedball somehow decides that it is a good idea to routinely sneak back into Stamford to assist with local volunteer ventures. Of course it doesn't take long for someone to notice him; despite the disguise, and all hell breaks loose. ChristosGage using an interesting approach for this story, depending a great deal on text messaging as the main source of dialogue. This is an interesting device to get the message across, and adds a true air modernity to the story.
The second story features the members of Atlas, with a special focus on Jimmy Woo. Jimmy shows many signs of having difficulty adjusting to society in the 21'st century.
The third story is a one page affair from Howard Chaykin. I am not really sure the purpose of this story featuring J. Jonah Jameson and hate Howard Chaykin to boot. So I think that it is fair to say that this story has little if no impact on the overall theme at all.
Lastly, the reader follows a group of locals who are having trouble adjusting to life in Broxton after the fall of Asgard. Locals are swarmed by tourists, and many people lose their homes due to economic conditions.
The collection is good, obviously with some stories being better than others. All in all, it is a good supplement to the main book.
