Interestingly Fun Read

OK, Spider-Man is in the savage land very, very busy fighting his clone Skrull. In the meantime, Jackpot has to cover for him on the streets of Manhattan. You gotta love the opening scene where Jackpot is riding on the top of a car driven by Joe Robertson while being chased by a Skrull with the powers of Venom, the rhino, the scorpion, and who knows what other villains.

To set up the story, Jackpot is busy doing a stake-out. And, thinking she has Declun by the short hair, she busts up the activity she has been watching. Of course everything is legit, and Jackpot comes off as a crackpot who doesn’t know what she is doing, and the DB is the first to publish the blunder.

Of course the Union for registered super heroes must get involved, as this could be defamation suit which means lots of exposure for the union. As the union rep is busy telling off the DB, Jackpot shows up to discuss her recent notoriety in their paper. As they are bickering, a huge Skrull ship beams down a couple of Super Skrulls and the fight is on.

The Skrull is looking for Spider-man. So naturally he is after Jackpot who he thinks knows where Spider-Man is. And, thus begins the story.

The story is fast paced and very interesting. The writing is good, and the art is even better. This is actually a cool story. At first I thought it would be lame, but I am really getting into it. Of course I am a big “Brand New Day” fan, and I think that a “Brand New Secret Invasion” is just as cool.
