DADOES?: Dust to Dust continues to deliver on the promise of the original story by Philip K Dick in writing style, story development and pace, characterization and artistic continuity. This prequel develops further the philosophical ideas of Dick as they relate to our understanding of the human condition in contrast to the development and capabilities of Androids. Mercerism is explored from the perspective of its origins and how a whole society could embrace the concept of empathy when it has been lost due to environmental factors created post nuclear Armageddon. There is real depth to this story, so much missing from the great majority of comics today. Boom studios allow authors to treat comic themes with respect, as a consequence also respect their readers.
Just look at the B cover to see the future as represented by the movie Blade Runner. Here we can see that Scott’s vision has so influence this comic in the most imaginative way. There is very little to dislike of this comic and its author and artists.
