I think I've made a mistake with jumping into this series. I was sucked in by Brubaker writing the prologue issue and then DCBS having #1 really cheap.
The smaller problems are the overall silliness of what they've done with Sin (a character Bru made pretty great in Cap) and the, already feeling, dated-ness of the topic - political dissent, bad economy, etc. But, the real problem is that Fraction absolutely stinks as a super-hero comic book writer. Less than halfway through the first issue and I wasn't sure how much I really wanted to bother finishing it. It's all just so tediously boring. Pretty much exactly the same weird obsession with putting a microscope on tedious, boring everyday conversation that has no plot relevance whatsoever that we saw in Iron Man #26-30. And when it's not that, it's really cliche comic book/cheesy B-movie dialogue. And while the second half did get better (yeah, I powered through), it's still a pretty awful comic. And Immonen's art really isn't helping (I've never been a big fan, but there's some straight-up confusing panels).
