Just confusing

As much as I try to look at this story as a fluff alternate universe, dumb summer movie story, I simply can't make any sense of it. Even in the realm of flying men in their underwear and time travel and alternate realities, I still can't follow how the characters are acting the way they do or what is going on. I mean, how exactly does a Bruce Wayne who never had his parents killed suddenly remember his Batman alter ego? Loeb makes up some poor attempt at an explanation, but it just doesn't fly. Still not too keen on Pacheco's art either, but I think it grew on me over the story line.
