If 'Batman #682' (which was apparantly the start of the
Last Rites story) didnt make any sense to you or if you were disapointed you didnt see any follow up to the R.I.P storyline.. then read this!
BECAUSE THIS IS ACTUALLY ABOUT THE AFTERMATH OF R.I.P (and its good)!!
This is what Batman #682 should have been, this follows directly on from where Batman #681 (the R.I.P conclusion) left off and oh boy is it good to finally read something enjoyable and down right good to do with the whole Batman deal!
I wont spoil anything or say anything about what goes on in the issue, accept for that if you want something good to wash down R.I.P, then this is it and its really good!
It obviously focuses on Dick Grayson after the 'death' (at least that's what the characters think) of Bruce Wayne.
One other thing I will say is that however enjoyable this was, it did lack a little bit of emotional depth, you'll know what I mean when you read it!
It has some great artwork, its ever so slightly manga-esque, but it works very well and doesnt ruin the atmosphere or Gotham or the story at all.
This is very good.
One final thing I will say about the story in this issue (and its the most important thing) is that it continues in the actual Batman series at #684! So its best to be reading both 'Batman' and 'Batman Detective Comics' here for it all to make sense!
Enjoy!
