Lacks Originality

This story resembles the Terminator storyline a little too closely for me to appreciate it. There looks to be a couple of new twists added, but ultimately it falls under the same umbrella.

The art is well done, with some interesting captures that help hammer home the awesome power of the Deathlok units. Jason Aaron however, is walking a tightrope here in terms of treading on familiar property. Even the futuristic Wolverine bears a striking resemblance to Old Man Logan and the one-handed Wolverine from Age of Apocolypse. There is still hope for Aaron to put his own personal stamp on this time travelling cyborg hunt, but it had better come next issue or else Marvel might see many of the fans that jumped on board during the Dr. Rot arc abandon ship.

I am interested in seeing who the man in the shadows, pulling all of the strings is. But I have a funny feeling that this reveal will not be enough to save this déjà vu arc.
