I would consider myself an "old" Iron Man fan. I don't care much for the movie and think that the handling of the Iron Man character, since Civil War, has been quite poor. Per the recommendation of my comic shop owner many months ago I picked Invincible Iron Man #12-and I am hooked. I have fallen in love with this tragic character as he struggles within and without to remove himself from the Osbourne/SHIELD conflict and simply...well, die. The way this story has taken Stark from all ends of the Earth and now finds him in a dismal little town at ground zero for the next big Marvel war is masterful story-telling by Fraction (who also writes Uncanny X-Men). That is to say nothing of the art in this book which is very crisp and sharp and makes human Stark look human and makes Iron Man look like Iron Man. If you are thinking of reading this book, or know someone who is, get the trade "World's Most Wanted" and see this wonderfully written story unfold in it's natural chronology. The events in Secret Invasion, Siege and the looming Doomwar all cross paths in this book-don't miss it!
