X-23 and Alan Davis

I picked this up recently while on an Alan Davis tear. going back and picking up the books he did that I missed for one reason or another.

And I've come to love X-23/Laura/Wolverine as a character in recent months.

This started out well enough. Apparently I bought 450 back in the day but don't recall it.

But then it gets into the XSE nonsense and the Sage nonsense and a character straight from the '90s called Geech. And then it falls apart for me.

I'm loathe to get into Powers/House of X because I see Nimrod and Apocalypse and I just think "Ugh". I'm not a fan of the half-cyborg, the muscle-bound, the characters that stray so far from any attempt at realism. I know some people look back on the era of "Fall of the Mutants" and "Inferno" fondly, but that's when these books lost me.

This just seems to be more of that.

May, I'm all over the place.
