One-shot???

This story reads more like a one-shot and has almost no connection with the other issues in this series. I can only assume it takes place before Wolverine has all of his revelations in Wolverine:Origins where he decides to let his anger go. It's hard to imagine Wolverine without the rage and issues from his past, but maybe the time has come for a change.

This story was meant to serve as a demonstration of his grief over the death of Nightcrawler and their relationship. It really wasn't bad, but I just didn't feel it was necessary. I thought Kurt could be mentioned in several upcoming Wolverine titles and be more effective than having one book focus on their relationship, and not actually go anywhere. Maybe I just had different expectations for the final book in this series.

Furthermore, the artwork is extremely confusing. Without the costumes Warren and Logan are almost unrecognizable. Close-ups of their faces are jumbled and don't have the detail that a lot of artist use today. I know it's hard to skip the last issue of a series, but don't expect too much in terms of entertainment here.

I figured this is what this issue would be like.
