Ahmet Abdol, the self-styled Living Pharaoh, has become the Living Monolith again by absorbing and channelling the Cosmic energy of the Mutant, Havok.
Seemingly powerless to stop him, Spider-Man is hurled through the air like a rag doll by the Monolith. The Asgardian Avenger, Thor just happens upon the scene in timely fashion to save Spidey.
Thor's first foray into fighting the Monolith is treated with contempt and he is dismissed as casually as Spider-Man before him. This enrages the Thunder God into taking his foe more seriously and unleashing more power to vanquish him.
While Thor and the Monolith engage in a bout of brinkmanship on a cosmic scale, Spidey uses his scientific brain to conclude that if Havok is the Monolith's power source then he will have to cut off that supply.
To get to Havok, first Spidey has to go through the former Pharaoh's men and disable a booby-trapped coffin that Havok was left sealed in.
Thor is beginning to doubt himself, as he has thrown nearly everything at the Monolith with hardly any effect, when the Monolith shudders and shrinks. Spidey has succeeded in freeing Havok and disconnecting his Cosmic power battery.
