*At BPRD headquarters, Abe Sapien, awakened from his coma by the mysterious Panya, learns of the distressing attacks from gargantuan monsters, the Ogdru Hem, taking place worldwide since his accident. Abe departs the headquarters undetected, a secret that Panya later hides from Kate Corrigan and her staff upon the discovery of Abe's disappearance. Elsewhere, BPRD Agent Carla Giarocco accompanies Russia's Director of Special Sciences Service, Ioseph Nichayko to a supposed rescue of a Siberian town under attack by monsters. Nichayko's real mission, however, is to repair a radio tower that has gone down. We learn the role of the tower in Nichayko's imprisonment of the SSS's former director, the demon Varvara. We also see Varvara, trapped in her mystic cell, gleefully awaiting her plan to unfold. *Source: Warlock
