"Starslayer!"
In the year 43 A.D., Torin Mac Quillon lives in Ireland in a village with his family, watching the days when Imperial Rome will invade grow short. And invade they do. Torin asks his countrymen to resist, but he is an outsider, and they instead decide to accept Roman rule. Torin takes his family deep into the wood to the home of the old Druid Necromancer Ambrosius who sees mysterious destiny in Torin's eyes. When the Romans do attack, Torin cannot resist the urge to go back and fight with his clan against the overwhelming odds. Just as he is about to succumb to the point of Roman spears, the heavens open up and Torin is gone in a flash of light, to be teleported to some future reality.
