Cable has become the first of The Twelve to be captured by Apocalypse. Apocalypse taunts Cable, preaching about survival of the fittest and how he thinks that Cable has been too weakened by his emotions to be among the most powerful beings in existence.
Cable escapes his containment only to be assaulted by Wolverine, who is currently serving as the horseman Death. Cable manages to fight him off only to be assaulted by Apocalypse himself. Eventually, Apocalypse threatens to have Wolverine kill Caliban if Cable does not back down, and Cable is once again put back in chains to serve as part of Apocalypse's grand schemes.
