Cannon and Strafe are ready for combat training with Backlash, but Cannon's lack of discipline causes both of trainees to learn some hard lessons. Meanwhile, a SkyWatch security patrol encounters a destroyed ship. They encounter strange beings, and return to SkyWatch possessed.
Backlash gets interrupted by the other members of StormWatch before he can propose to Diane LaSalle, and when she returns to her room the members of the security patrol are waiting. They reveal themselves to be Daemonites, and before StormWatch even knows what is going on, they have used Diane to release the WarGuard.
