"What If the World Knew Daredevil Was Blind?"
One chance event occurring during a match-up between Daredevil and Electro, with a pinch of Spider-Man mixed in, leads to the discovery that the "Man Without Fear" is also a man without sight. Electro, after defeat and arrest, blabs to anyone who'll listen. The media lap up the story and in no time at all everyone knows that ol' Hornhead is blind as a bat.
The wily Owl is the first villain to attempt exploiting Daredevil's disability with a complex machine to confuse his other hyper-senses. DD nearly gets beat, but the opportune arrival of Karen Page gives the hero something positive to focus on.
Karen, who has guessed that Daredevil is really Matt Murdock, presses him to undergo an operation to restore his sight. The specialist surgeon has however, moved to a repressed European state, one where Matt can sense the paranoia and fear polluting the atmosphere, stepping off the plane in Lichtenbad.
The operation's a success, but the doctor is bundled away by robot drones for voicing less than loyal comments on the status quo. Averting a nuclear disaster deprives DD of his Radar Sense.
"What If the Spider Had Been Bitten by a Radioactive Human?"
Rascally Roy Thomas usurps Uatu to present an absurd, inverted twist on a Marvel legend. Webster Weaver, an unassuming arachnid, lives with his Uncle Bug and Aunt Mayfly.
Suburban life plods along at snail's pace until wee Webster goes to a science exhibition in the big city, where he gets bitten by a ga-ga, radiation-stricken physicist. A life of battling funny-animal adversaries awaits the newly-christened "Man-Spider".
