Haunted by nightmares of his death at the hands of Doomsday, Superman determines the only way to rid himself of the dreams is to find the body of Doomsday.
As he prepares to leave Earth, a space freighter bound for Apokolips brings aboard an asteroid they hope to sell for it's ore content. Once the rock is onboard, they discover that it carries the body of Doomsday. As the incredible monster awakens, the crew's attempts to jettison him into space are foiled and the ship makes it's way to Apokolips.
Upon landing Doomsday quickly begins a new rampage of terror, killing all in site. Unknown to all is that Hank Henshaw, the Cyborg Superman, beamed his consciousness into a transmitter attached to Doomsday and has now used Apokoliptian battle armor to rebuild himself.
Darkseid sees that his armies are no match for the deadly monster and decides that he must face the beast in combat - he has yet to encounter a being who could withstand the unsurpassed force of his Omega Beams!
Yet even the mighty and fearsome Darkseid falls at the hands of Doomsday...
Using a Motherbox, the Man of Steel arrives on Apokolips to learn that not only is the Cyborg alive but his deadliest enemy, Doomsday, lives again as well.
While Superman and the Cyborg are distracted with each other, Desaad takes advantage of the moment and opens a boom-tube sending Doomsday away from Apokolips forever.
