Galactus is busy consuming the energy of a Kree planet, where the maverick Captain Mar-Vell and his command troop try to retrieve intelligence gathered on the world-eater.
That data is lost, sacrificed as a consequence of saving a fellow officer's life. Mar-Vell faces disciplinary action from his superiors and is re-assigned.
Mar-Vell is posted on the Pama starship. His new commanding officer, Colonel Yon-Rogg welcomes him aboard. The ship's medical officer presents herself, while Yon-Rogg introduces her as Una. Eyes, minds, and perhaps hearts meet.
Details of a special mission are divulged to the elite members of the crew. A high ranking Kree officer, Devros, has gone missing. It is the Pama crew's duty to rescue or neutralize him before all the tactical Kree knowledge Devros possesses can be appropriated by an enemy force.
