Ben survived the crash of the shuttle in the desert as he sets off to find Diablo. Meanwhile, Diablo is ready to turn his new weapon on the world but something goes wrong, the system is overloading due to a malfunction in one of the collectors. Diablo dispatches Darkoth to investigate as he runs head-long into the Thing. Darkoth and the Thing battle but Darkoth can not bring himself to tell Ben that he was once Ben's best friend, Desmond Pit. But as the potion that sustains Darkoth wears off, he reveals his identity to Ben. Ben goes after Diablo and with Darkoth's sacrifice, they defeat Diablo. Back in Hollywood, Sue tries to reach Reed but finds out who the identity of the studio owner, an old friend/adversary.
