*In 1953, the Sprit King was tracked down and condemned by the Spectre in Portsmouth. Now, violence is erupting in Portsmouth's streets, and Doctor Mid-Nite's protege Ice-Sickle is one of the victims, shot dead. Meanwhile, temporal beacons are launched, summoning help for Rick Tyler, and Mister Terrific reveals to Doctor Mid-Nite that he has no faith at all.
