Promethea takes Barbara Shelley for treatment after the attack of the Smee, and Barbara warns her that worse things are on their way. We meet Benny Solomon, an underworld lord of a group called the Temple, as he hires a pair of otherworldly demons for a hit on Promethea. Marchosias and Andras put themselves on Promethea's trail as Promethea seeks out her friend Stacia for advice. The demons catch them and the fight is on. Promethea proves to be more than a match for them, and the demons beat a hasty retreat, opening a doorway to Immateria, which tragically pulls Stacia through.
