"The Legend of the Black Rider"
The origin of how Matt Masters' father was killed by rustlers when he was young. He avenged his father, and later became a doctor. It is 'Doc' Masters who later takes the alias of Black Rider, when he sees that the evil of the world hasn't gone away. Drawn by Jack Kirby. (7 pages)

"The Human Sacrifice" featuring the Apache Kid
The Apache named Dragon Face favors burning settlers at the stake. Aloysius Kare finds Dragon Faces' handy-work, and must try to stop Dragon Face from convincing Chief Red Hawk that this is the way to deal with the white man's encroachment. His approach, unfortunately, puts Mary Gregory in harm's way, and the Apache Kid must rescue her from being burned at the stake. Drawn by Joe Maneely. (7 pages)

"Outlaw Town" featuring the Matt Slade
Slade is invited by Mayor Brad Ferris to help him clear the settlement of Bucktown of bad men, led by Cobra Caine. Slade comes, but he has been led into a trap, and finds the secret leader is really Ferris himself. Drawn by Joe Maneely. (4 pages)
