Words from Kantos Kan in defense of his now-tarnished ally and mentor, John Carter, disrupt a drinking den in central Helium. Moldy tavern walls echo with the percussion of a Barsoomian bar brawl.
John's still burning and looting the hinterlands on Stara Kan's orders. Enough is enough, though and Carter can tolerate no longer being a pawn to Kan's convoluted scheme.
As night descends, John crashes Kan's quarters, but finds no trace of the megalomaniacal miscreant. Co-ordinates left in a logbook give the clue to Kan's whereabouts.
A stolen flyer set to those same co-ordinates takes Carter across Barsoom's barren sands to a dormant volcano lined by steel structures. Telepathic instinct leads JC right to Kan's doorstep.
The Prince of Helium contemptuously tosses sundry Warhoon aside in his lust to finally get at Stara Kan. Savage combat climaxes with Stara Kan's mechanical arm being torn asunder. Desperation takes the villain now, and he makes a lunge for his Radium pistol.
Just like in a thousand movies, both opponents grapple for control of the weapon, and a shot is fired. Guess who buys the farm?
