Spartan's operation has moved out to L.A., leaving some retired Wildcats in New York City. Cole Cash spends his days in the bars, but lately he has been visited by the ghost of his dead brother Max. Cole catches up with old teammate Bryce "Warblade" Reno, and Spartan has Void drop a beligerant Maxine in Grifter's lap. Together, they try to solve the mystery of Max's reappearance. Max is decidedly not a ghost, looking more like a zombie, and he has a vendetta. Ultimately, Grifter has to put him down, leaving him feeling more down and out than ever.
