Reed builds a machine to harness the energy of Thor's hammer to replenish Galactus but it goes awry and nearly destroys the hammer and Thor. The power is only temporary as Reed tries to find a suitable planet to feed the giant and Galactus grows impatient and turns to feed on Earth. But it is another deal that is struck which saves Earth, as Frankie Raye offers herself as the next herald in order to spare Earth. Johnny is heartbroken as he watches his love granted the Power Cosmic as she burst free of the hold of Earth and steaks out among the stars. NYC is retuned to Earth as the FF goes about their long task of rebuilding the Baxter Building with the help of Tony Stark. Fed up with the constant hounding by the building owner, Mr. Collins, Reed buys the Baxter Building outright and becomes the new landlord of the skyscraper.
