Vanth hands over teleportation drives, that were stolen from the Instrumentality, to the Monarchy. This is done in the hopes to avoid massive bloodshed if the Instrumentality were to over-throw the Monarchy. Lord Papal sends assassins and other threats to end this interference from Vanth, but it all fails. The Last two pages of the book contain a text bio of Syzygy Darklock to bring you up to speed on this character.
