In the wake of Doomsday and Darkseid's battle, Apokolips lays in waste and Waverider contemplates involving himself in this struggle.
As Superman leaves his Motherbox with the mortally wounded Darkseid in the hopes of resuscitation, the Cyborg continues his take-over of the entire planet.
Unaware of what is going on in the palace, Waverider accesses the stream of time and directs all information on Doomsday's creation directly into the Man of Steel's mind. Decades of horrendous genetic experiments resulted in a creature named by its creators the Ultimate. After decimating the planet the Ultimate turned on his creators and killed them all, then snuck onto a space freighter and travelled the galaxy for years spreading death and destruction.
Upon reaching the planet Calaton the monster was eventually defeated by a being known as the Radiant.
Following their ancient customs, Doomsday was suited, shackled, and "buried" in space where, after thousands of years, his coffin crashed on ancient Earth and lay buried for centuries underground.
