As Mongul's Warworld draws closer, private and government satellites begin to detect it and the White House notifies the Cyborg Superman that it is heading toward Coast City.
Already in Coast City, the Last Son of Krypton heads toward the ship to investigate its intentions when he is confronted and brutally attacked by the Cyborg Superman with energy blasts so intense the Eradicator begins to lose his physical form.
As the Kryptonian makes his escape to the Antarctic, the alien ship unleashes 77,000 bombs evenly disbursed across the region and detonates them all simultaneously, vaporizing the entire city and all 7 million inhabitants. Now Mongul must await further instruction from his master - the Cyborg Superman!
