I picked this up since it was Jay Anacleto on art and I just can't resist his stuff. So, regardless of the story, I was looking forward to enjoying some art. The story was actually interesting, if not completely throw away stuff - some fantasy world is being attacked a kingdom at a time and their protective gods killed. One night the last of the kingdoms is attacked by a Hellspawn. Sounds all well and good for a fantasy book. Sadly, none of the stuff is really fleshed out. And for the love of hell Image, get some editors. There's at least five typos in this book.
As far as the art, well, it suffers from being over colored and darkly colored and shrunk down to comic size. The sketchbook in the back of the book has a number of uncolored, larger size final pencils which look gorgeous and make you realize there's zero reason for Anacleto's art to be touched after he's done.
