Mind Warping Stories and a Beautiful Painted Cover.

I truly believe there is not enough said about the Horror (non-gore) genre that has been available since the beginning of Comic Distribution. Take for example this issue from DC Comics. We are presented with three very well written stories and some quick facts about historical characters and mythology. The first story deals with what happens when a General creates a Martyr, when he takes away a repressed peoples "prophet". The burden of his crime weighs him down, until the fates finally catch up with him and give him a death, "caused" by the spirits of all his most recent murders (i.e. all of the regions Raptors, which he had put to death). In the second story a boy is traumatized to hear stories of Humpty Dumpty of other tales dealing with broken eggs. Finally being able to take no-more, his teacher sets out to have a talk with his father. I the ends she finds out the reason for the boys condition...the father actually resembles a human egg on legs. Finally in the "night-cap", we are shown the tale of a man with no control. When he finally finds a "cure, he finds it truly is as he was told, he will be two separate men. In the end his son is faced with a decision to stop one of them at all cost....he makes the wrong decision. I highly recommend that just for reading fun, you pick up any of DC's Horror genre from the mid 60's to early 80's. You won't be disappointed.
