Most Teenage Girls Think About Boys

Robin asked her to do one thing (well it was more like he ordered her): lead a normal life. Put Spoiler away for good and just lead a normal life. Some times things go in one ear and out the other.

Stephanie Brown is starting freshman year and while most young ladies at that age are worried about boys and if that bump is a zit she on the other hand has larger issues. She can't kick that 800 pound super hero monkey on her back. She has the itch bad to help out Gotham and while even she admits that she only promised Robin that she would stop being Spoiler she never said anything about being Batgirl.

Done with being Batgirl Cassandra Cain hands the duties and uniform over to Stephanie and vanishes. Now Stephanie is juggling her "normal" life with her secret one and trying to keep her mom from finding out that she is breaking her promise to give up crime fighting.

Some great action and story telling kick off this first issue of Batgirl and I have to say, I like what I am seeing. While the other Bat books right now seem to have a slight heavy feel to them Batgirl at least to me in this first issue lacked that. It made me remember what drew me to Robin (before it ended). The struggle between the Stephanie and her normal and private life gives her that same feel that Robin had when he was trying to maintain a life outside of crime fighting. I hope that this book takes off like the other Bat books and can make a decent run. You also get a look at Barbara Gordon as no Bat book can be complete with out her. Over all a good start.
