Unless you live in a cave and pretty much have no connection with the outside world, chances are you've been exposed to the phenomenon that is THE WALKING DEAD. Whether it's through a best-selling series of trade paperbacks or from the incredibly popular TV show on AMC, it all still leads back to the form of the printed comic book. THE WALKING DEAD WEEKLY is a series that reprints the 1st 52 issues of the original WALKING DEAD comic book in a weekly black and white format. And what do fans do when they can't buy the original comic? They get the next best thing, which are these beauties.
Issue #19 is of particular interest in the series because it introduces that ebony bad-ass Michonne, who was briefly seen in the Season 2 finale of the TV shows. Needless to say, the hype surrounding this show and has bled over into this reprinted series and copies of this book are getting swallowed up (as mentioned in an article on BLEEDINGCOOL.COM) like a zombie to flesh. While copies of this book are heading upwards of $50 or more on the secondary market it is NOT too late to get this book for a song from your local comic book retailer. Many of them don't realize the hype surrounding the WALKING DEAD WEEKLY series yet, and I've been fortunate enough to pick this book, as well as many others in the series, for cover price or less in the last week.
Sure, I could have picked a new issue for this week, but I'm taking the time machine back to this book from about 10 months ago. WHY? Because I'm a collector. And I care. And so should you. So if your shop has this book for cover price as of today? BUY. THEM. ALL.
