For anyone who hasn't read Witchblade before here's the lowdown, the comic centers on New York Special Cases Detective
Sara Pezzini. She's this generations chosen wielder of the
Witchblade (an ancient artifact meant to be the balance between the light and dark forces contained in the universe).
Picking up where
#140 left off, Ron Marz and Saurav Mohaptra deliver a strong conclusion to their two-part story-arc. I honestly wasn't sure going in how the writing duo was going to solve the problem they presented the readers with in the previous issue (the Neuman children). But they do solve it, and let me assure you they pull it off in a way that's possibly surprising and even makes a lot of sense.
As for the art in this issue, Stjepan Sejic again proves why he was signed on as series artist until issue
#150. His creature design and battle scenes are impeccable, and a true treat for any readers eyes. His character reactions and emotions however look near flawless but sometimes movements and facial expressions seem a bit too stiff and that can be a bit jarring.
Overall this issue is a really good read, and worth the $2.99 price of admission.
