Norman Osborn saves the day!

Usually these big events end with a “tink” rather than a “BANG,” however, this final issue was a great ending for the arc, and a great beginning for an all new arc! I absolutely loved the entire Secret Invasion arc, and the conclusion in this book did not let me down.

I am not crazy about Leinil Francis Yu’s art, but it began to grow on me as I read through the story. A good inker and a good colorist help Yu out some. Again, art is subjective, but I just have a hard time with Yu’s style.

Brian Michael Bendis did a wonderful job through-out the entire arc, and this final story was really a fun read. Not only did he conclude the invasion, but he put in some surprises and set the tone for a future arc that sounds very promising.

In this issue we lost a founding Avenger, reunited families, brought back lost heroes, all while winning the invasion. Plenty of action, and plenty of drama. Also, no loose ends and everything tied up nicely. Yet, even with a great ending, the book set up a very cool anticipation of Dark Reign. I can’t wait to begin reading that! It was an absolute great ending, and well worth the read.
