This retelling of a sore spot in Spidey's history begins with a bang! The first of six issues, I enjoyed the way things were set up.
In this series, Tom Defalco and Howard Mackie attempt to tell this tale as it was meant to be told. And, the beginning was not bad! We have all cracked jokes about the Clone Saga days, but this issue seems to start off with some pretty cool stuff.
Aunt May has a heart attack, Mary Jane is pregnant, and Ben Reilly returns to New York. Now that makes for good story telling.
Todd Nauck does a great job with the artwork on this issue. With the help of Inker Victor Olazaba and Colorist Javier Tartaglia, the imagery is quite pleasing.
I waited till all six issues were complete before beginning this story. It is a nice change from Amazing Spider-Man that has been wearing on my nerves for the last few issues with the Gauntlet crap. We'll see how the Clone Saga plays out. So far... nice start.
