I had to do a little research before writing this review to make sure that I knew which series this issue belonged to. I wasn't sure if it was Deadpool, or Cable and Deadpool, or Cable, or any one of the other five hundred Deadpool books out right now. Turns out it is part of the Cable series, which I figured based on the numbering.
This is an interesting story that fills in a small gap in the Messiah War story. Interestingly enough, the missing information around Hope (the mutant Messiah) involves our favourite merc with a mouth. Turns out, that without Deadpool's help, Cable might not have escaped the current time stream with the baby.
Deadpool plays his standard role, seemingly messing up everything, only to reveal that it was all part of his calculated plan in the end.
I'm always entertained by Paco Medina's art and nobody needs me to remind them of how talented Swiercynski is as a writer.
This was a good book, but not as essential as it might sound. Sure, Deadpool saved the day, but I am not sure I needed to know that in order for this story to move forward.
