Not to bad but . . .

Ok this is my first review, hopefully many more to come because you all need to know what the Puyaybusto thinks.

With my recent obsession with horror I picked up Velvet Rope for the large cover price of 5.95. Hoping to dive into a book with some nice short horror stories I instead found myself reading what I would call pitches for new series from Arcana. Not one story really stood out to me.

The book starts with introducing you to "Velvet" the story teller or crypt keeper of the book. Kind of exciting start, new character but playing on the same idea of other horror anthologies. She works at the movie theater where one patron is ready to watch the previews. Problem is, you only get the previews. Now I don't mean you get half stories. They all finish but some seem rushed due to being allowed 4-8 pages.

Artwork varies between the stories.Overall I give it a 3 out of 5.

Writing some good some bad, but most feel very rushed to the conclusion. 2 out of 5.

Dying Breath Fun idea, great main character idea, bad story execution. Don't pitch me story ideas, give me something fun and complete to make me want more anthologies from you. You set the character up to tell it, now just sell it better. Not worth your hard earned $6 but worth at least $3.
