Now THESE are my Transformers...

It's become abundantly clear that if I were to choose a side between staying on Cybertron with Bumblebee or booking into space in search of adventure with Rodimus, I believe I'd have to plant my flag on Cybertron.

TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE is the counter-punch to IDW's dual TF titles currently being published. (I reviewed More Than Meets the Eye #1 a few weeks ago and I was less than impressed). Needless to say, THIS title was exactly what I was looking for.

In this issue, (which takes right after the events of TF: MTMTE #1), Bumblebee and the remaining Autobots and Decepticons are trying to rebuild on a Cybertron that's wild and untamed with millions of alien robots (both Transformers and other-non-Affiliated Technology based races alike) now calling the planet home. The Star Trek analogies continue as this has a DEEP SPACE NINE feel to the book, with the current status quo trying to maintain the peace and restore order to the planet.

There's great little moments in this book that overshadow the slow-paced set up of the entire companion series. In one scene, we get to see Bumblebee blow someone away. Plus, the artwork is top notch and lengths better than Nick Roche's cartoon-like artwork in the autre.

So if you like your Transformers hard-boiled and with attitude, this book is for you.
