ONE MORE DAY: Part 2 or "Is there a DOCTOR STRANGE in the house?"

In the second installment to Marvel's soft relaunch of Spider-man's mythology in "ONE MORE DAY", Peter Parker seeks out the help of the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Strange, in order to do what he can to help his dying Aunt May. Doctor Strange explains to Spider-Man that there is a universal order to life and death and this is just another part of that. Any attempt to stop that cycle could have serious consequences when the universe tries to right itself back into order. Peter, blinded by his goal to save Aunt May, takes it upon himself to utilize a spell that transports his astral self to the moment when Aunt May is shot. He thinks he can effect the outcome, but he can't and now his own life is at risk. Doctor Strange rescues Spider-Man before he his turned into a phantom for good, but they are unable to change the unfortunate events that injured Aunt May.

Joe Quesada's artwork truly stands out in this issue and while I didn't like how Peter just forgot everything he's learned about caution since becoming Spider-Man, it was somewhat believable. The Spider-Man I know wouldn't have disobeyed Doctor Strange's warning about using the spell without suffering grave consequences. Then again, Peter was prepared to deal with whatever happened if it meant saving Aunt May.

All in all, a great read, with an ending I'm not looking forward to.
