Aeon Flux #1 from dark Horse shows why it was selected as a good candidate for a motion picture a few years back. It has the action that would tax any special effect group and a substantive story line that would attract science fiction fans. The combining of a dystopia where plant life has evolved to become a threat to civilization and the political intrigue that fuels a constant confrontation between factions are enough to make this comic a good creative enterprise.
I especially like the crisp lettering supplied by Mr. Thomas. It is nice to read large letters that are clear once in a while. The unique take of our heroin is supplied by Timothy Green II. It reminds me of Frank Miller in the way the female figure is portrait.
The story has a Philip K Dick feel to it. I hope the remaining issues in this story are as good as the first issue.
