I've only started collecting Thor directly with his new series. I have many of his appearances from past Avengers books and even a couple direct Thor issues from previous volumes, but all-in-all I haven't concerned myself much with his doings.
I wasn't bothered much by the change in numbering. Call it issue 1600 for all I care. I just want a good story and some good art. This book provided both. While I'll never understand how Loki manages to trick everybody, all of the time, this was a doozey of a trick!
Anyone who has read any of my reviews knows that I am a fan of people being punched through buildings. In this issue we are offered one better. Norman Osborn, in his Iron Patriot armour is punched through a skyscraper by Thor! Couldn't have happened to worse guy!
The action in this issue was non-stop and writing really made you sympathize with Bor, Thor's grandfather. It will be interesting to see what lies in store for the God of Thunder from here on in. Likewise, considering the new Dark Illuminati, the Asgaardians taking up refuge in Latveria can't bold well for....humanity?!?!?
Looks like this series is about to pick up steam!
