Regularly Good

This month's edition of the Thunderbolts was highly entertaining. The new line-up is rounding into form and both Jeff Parker (writer) and Kev Walker (artist) are doing a fine job of developing this transformed team.

This particular issue shares a storyline with Avengers Academy, which works out quite nicely. I always enjoy seeing a story from multiple perspectives. In true homage form, there is a power surge on the RAFT Detention Center (I won't tell you how that happens) and the super powered convicts begin to start a prison riot. The new T-Bolt team; including now wheelchair bound warden, US Agent, take the situation under their arm and give it a giant noogie!

Luke Cage's characterization is very exciting. He has always had an edge, but rarely acts on it. In this issue, Cage unleashes on some of the escapees (Purple Man in particular) and the result is a lot of blood and broken teeth! And I have to admit, I have always loved Juggernaut as a reluctant hero.

Walker's art takes a little getting used to, especially his depiction of Juggernaut. Strangely enough though, his stylized lines all work well with the team.

This team's line-up is stacked, and I can't wait to see them get involved in Shadowlands in the next couple of issues.
